What is Data Enrichment?
Data enrichment is the process of enhancing existing records with additional information from external sources, such as appending company size, industry, email addresses, or social profiles to a CRM contact.
How it works
Raw lead data is often incomplete. A form submission might capture only a name and email. Data enrichment tools (like Clearbit, Apollo, or ZoomInfo) automatically look up that email and append the person's job title, company, revenue, tech stack, LinkedIn profile, and more. This enriched data feeds into lead scoring, segmentation, and personalization. Automated data enrichment workflows typically trigger when a new contact is created and run enrichment API calls in sequence, mapping results back into the CRM or database.
